His door was wide open when I arrived.

“Hello?” I called, knocking against his door.

I entered the mess of his room, scroll in my hands. I wanted to leave his son’s drawing on his table and be on my way.

Right before I pried my eyes from his desk, I saw Constanria’s seal on one of the letters on the table.

Rylan?

If letters were coming from Constanria, why hadn’t Rylan sent any to us?

I searched around, because guilt rose in my chest and it made me not want to pry. But my curiosity was stronger. I picked the letter up from the desk. I had to squint to read it properly. The room was lit by nothing but moonlight streaming in the windows, which wasn’t much.
